Beanie Wells grew up as one of 11 children. Being involved in sports kept his family busy. Football meant everything to Beanie as he played for one of the top colleges in the nation and was drafted by an iconic professional team. But his career changed in a split second when he injured his Achilles tendon and complications ended his dreams. Donor tissue was used to reconstruct his Achilles. His donor’s heroic gift allows him to run and play with his sons. Organ donation continues to touch his family today as his father waits for a kidney transplant. Beanie wants to pass on his gratitude and encourages everyone to sign up as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
